Facebook, Instagram have a 'news' problem in Canada
Canadian news industry groups are seeking an antitrust probe after Facebook parent company, Meta, began blocking news content on its platforms. The groups accused Meta of abusing its dominant position, which would harm Canadian journalism. The Canadian parliament recently approved the "Online News Act," forcing companies such as Google and Meta to strike deals with local publishers and make payments. https://ift.tt/pvjniTg
