The iPhone 12 Mini supports 12W charging via MagSafe

One of the new features introduced by Apple in the iPhone 12 is MagSafe charging. The MagSafe charger magnetically attaches to the back of the iPhone and offers wireless charging. The MagSafe charging on the iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max offers 15W of fast charging but on the iPhone 12 Mini, it is limited to 12W of charging.

A user should plug the charger into the wall before placing the phone on it. According to Apple, “This allows MagSafe to verify it's safe to deliver maximum power. If you happen to place your iPhone on the MagSafe Charger before plugging into a power source, simply remove your iPhone from the MagSafe Charger, wait three seconds, and then put it back on to resume maximum power delivery”. Needless to say, if you put the MagSafe charger on the iPhone before plugging it into the wall, you will not get the maximum charging speed.

Apple officially launched the iPhone 12 family of smartphones in the mid of October. All the new iPhones support 5G networks and have a flat-edge design that’s reminiscent of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5s. The new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are powered by the A14 Bionic processor, dual cameras on the back and a vivid display that’s more durable than ever, thanks to a new layer of Ceramic Shield.

Apple iPhone 12 mini starts at Rs 69,900 for the base 64GB storage variant, Rs 74,900 for the 128GB variant and Rs 84,900 for the 256GB variant. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 is priced starting at Rs 79,900 for the 64GB model followed by the 128GB variant that’s priced at Rs 84,900 for the 128GB variant and Rs 94,900 for the 256GB variant.
