Huawei P40 series pricing leaked, P40 Pro spotted on Geekbench

Huawei P40 series will be announced on March 26. Moreover, the company has already launched the Huawei P40 Lite and P40 Lite E in the market. However, ahead of the official announcement of the Huawei P40 series, its pricing has leaked online. Further, P40 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench. 

According to a Greek publication, the 128GB variant of the Huawei P40 priced at EUR 849 and the 256GB Huawei P40 Pro at EUR 1,139. Further, as per a tipster, the P40 will be the least expensive and cost between 799 Euros and 899 Euros in Europe. The Huawei P40 Pro will be costing between 999 Euros and 1,099 Euros. The top-end P40 Pro PE is said to be priced between 1,199 Euros and 1,299 Euros.

The Huawei P40 Pro has also been spotted on Geekbench by MySmartPrice. The phone scored 776 in the single-core test of Geekbench 5 and recorded a score of 3182 in the multi-core test. The handset is mentioned to be powered by HiSilicon Kirin chipset that has a base frequency of 1.95GHz. It is likely to be the Kirin 990 5G chipset. Further, the listing reveals, P40 Pro will have an 8GB RAM variant. It will run Android 10. However, the trio may not arrive with Google Mobile Services (GMS). Instead, they are likely to run Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).

The Huawei P40 Pro is said to come equipped with as many as five cameras on its rear. The P40 Pro’s penta-lens camera system is tipped to comprise of the 1/1.28” Sony IMX700 52-megapixel Hexadeca Bayer RYYB lens, a 1/1.5” Sony IMX650 40-megapixel ultrawide Cine RGGB lens, a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a dual prism periscope zoom lens with 10x optical zoom and a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor.

Motorola Razr 2019 to be launched in India tomorrow: Live stream, specs and more

Motorola is all set to launch its foldable phone, the Razr (2019) in India tomorrow, March 16. Further, the device will be sold through Flipkart. As for the launch event, it will be live-streamed online. The event begins at 12:30 PM. It will be live-streamed on YouTube as well as the company’s Facebook profile. Motorola Razr (2019) specifications

The Motorola Razr (2019) features a 6.2-inch Cinemavision foldable pOLED screen with a 2142 x 876-pixel display and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It comes equipped with a 2.7-inch external display with a 600 x 800-pixel resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. The foldable phone is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform, paired with Adreno 616 GPU. It comes equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and runs Android 9 Pie.

In the optics department, Motorola Razr (2019) ports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22um pixel size, EIS, Dual Pixel autofocus (AF) and Laser AF. As for the selfies, the foldable phone comes with a 5MP front-facing camera with  f/2.0 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. Further, it packs a 2510mAh battery with 15W TurboPower fast charging technology. The device comes with splash-proof water-resistant nanocoating. 

Motorola Razr (2019) price in India

Motorola Razr (2019) price in India is expected to be in line with what was announced in the US last month. The device was launched at  $1,499 (approx Rs 1,06,000).

What Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks can teach us about peer review

One of the best-known sketches from Monty Python's Flying Circus features John Cleese as a bowler-hatted bureaucrat with the fictional Ministry of Silly Walks. It's a classic of physical comedy, right up there with the troupe's Dead Parrot sketch ("This parrot has ceased to be!") in terms of cultural significance.

A pair of scientists at Dartmouth University have performed a gait analysis of the various silly walks on display, publishing their findings in a new paper in the journal Gait and Posture. It's intended in part as a commemoration on the 50-year anniversary of the sketch, but also to draw attention to the need for a more streamlined peer review process for grants in the health sciences.

The two authors, Erin Butler and Nathaniel Dominy, are married, having met 12 years ago at Stanford. (Butler was a TA for a class where Dominy gave a lecture on the evolution of bipedalism.) Dominy is the Monty Python fan. "So, put together a Monty Python fan with a creative scientific mind and an expert in gait analysis, and this paper is what you get," Butler told Ars. Or, as they wrote in their paper, "It really is the silliness of the sketch that resonates with us, and extreme silliness seems more relevant now than ever before in this increasingly Pythonesque world."
