Tesla Model 3 owner implants RFID chip to turn her arm into a key
Forget the keycard or phone app, one software engineer is trying out a new way to unlock and start her Tesla Model 3.
Amie DD, who has a background in game simulation and programming, recently released a video showing how she “biohacked” her body. The software engineer removed the RFID chip from the Tesla Model 3 valet card using acetone, then placed it into a biopolymer, which was injected through a hollow needle into her left arm. A professional who specializes in body modifications performed the injection.
You can watch the process below, although folks who don’t like blood should consider skipping it. Amie DD also has a page on Hackaday.io that explains the project and the process.
The video is missing one crucial detail. It doesn’t show whether the method works. TechCrunch will update the post once a new video delivering the news is released.
Amie is not new to biohacking. The original idea was to use the existing RFID implant chip that was already in her hand to be able to start the Model 3. That method, which would have involved taking the Java applet and writing it onto her own chip, didn’t work because of Tesla’s security. So, Amie DD opted for another implant.
Amie DD explains why and how she did this in another, longer video posted below. She also talks a bit about her original implant in her left hand, which she says is used for “access control.” She uses it to unlock the door of her home, for instance.

RealmeOS development confirmed by company CEO: Report
It was back in February this year that we got the first hint of Realme's plans to make its own version of the Android operating system. In a more recent development, which seems a lot more definite, Realme has confirmed the development of such an operating system. Called RealmeOS, the new software is expected to be based on the upcoming Android Q. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth reportedly confirmed this development while talking to India Today at an event based on the OEM's upcoming 64MP camera technology.
While Sheth confirmed that Realme's own flavour of Android was in the works, he reportedly did not get into the specifics of it. Until now Realme has relied on Oppo (and its ColorOS) to bring software to its devices but with RealmeOS on the way, that should change. It's hard to guess how Realme might garnish its flavour of Android but speculations online indicate at a ROM that is close to the stock version of Android (like OnePlus, for example).
Earlier this year, we learnt that Realme had filed a patent application with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office for something called “RealmeOS”, which was the first clue that a Realme-flavoured Android was on the way. Around that time, we also read reports of Realme looking for ways to complement its new software with a proprietary app store. If it turns out that way, we can expect Realme smartphones to come with their own app marketplace set as default instead of Google Play Store.
More recently, we learnt that Realme's first smartphone with the much-awaited 64MP quad-camera technology could be called the Realme 5. How did we know? Sheth had quietly changed his Twitter handle to “Madhav ‘5’ Quad”. The CEO had played a similar stunt just before the launch of the Realme X. Realme is expected to be the first smartphone OEM to equip its models with a 64MP camera, which is essentially the Bright GW1 developed by Samsung.

HP has been taking it slow in the laptop segment but that doesn’t mean that the company is sitting idle. The laptop maker just announced its new HP Chromebook x360 convertible laptop in India, which, as the name suggests, is a laptop running on Google’s Chrome OS. However, the new laptop also comes with innate support for Android apps. A user can log in into the device to sync their account with apps, documents, and files. Most of the computing activity on the laptop is taken care of on Google’s servers and HP says that because of this, the device’s processor can’t be bogged down even when the storage is full.
The HP Chromebook x360 features a 14-inch Full HD touch-enabled display with a bezel that is said to measure 7.5mm in size. The laptop comes equipped with dual speakers that are tuned by Bang & Olufsen, and with up to 64GB of SSD storage. It runs on 8GB DDR4 memory and is backed by a 60Wh battery. The new Chromebook by HP sports a 3D-stamped metal keyboard deck with a diamond-cut trim on the touchpad. The device’s body is sports anodised aluminum finish.

https://ift.tt/2ONbxp7OnePlus 7T Pro leaks in live photos, sports display similar to OnePlus 7 Pro
Those who have been following OnePlus’ smartphone launch trend should be well aware of the fact that the company launches the ‘T’ variant in November. It’s been almost three months since the Chinese tech giant launched the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, and as we get closer to the end of the year, the leaks of the alleged ‘T’ version of the phones have started to crop up. While the company is yet to say anything about the next phones, Slashleaks has shared an image claiming it to be of the OnePlus 7T Pro.
In the picture, the alleged OnePlus 7T Pro is seen inside a case that hides the back design as well as the edges of the smartphone. The phone is clearly visible from the front and by the looks of it, we can tell it similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro. There is a curved display with a small chin and no camera notch hinting at the pop-up selfie camera. The alleged OnePlus 7T Pro is seen running a beta version of Android Q.
The OnePlus 7T Pro may be a lot similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the primary difference between the two could be in departments like hardware, camera and battery. The company is also expected to offer new colour variants with the ‘T’ variant. Rumours suggest that the OnePlus 7T Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus that the US-based chipmaker launched last month.
The OnePlus 7 Pro features a 6.67-inch fluid AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution, sports pixel density of 516 ppi, is HDR10+ certified and has a 90 Hz refresh rate. There’s also Night Mode 2.0, which is touted to lower screen brightness to 0.27 nits for less eye strain at night. Under the hood, the OnePlus 7 Pro has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage (Performance comparison). OnePlus 7 Pro was the first phone to be available with the latest Qualcomm chip in India.
When it comes to the optics, the OnePlus 7 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor and it’s paired with an f/1.6 aperture lens with a custom-made 7-element plastic lens. This main sensor supports OIS and EIS, and is supplemented by an 8MP telephoto lens that offers 3X zoom and also a 16MP ultra-wide lens. There are stereo speakers on the phone, and an improved in-display fingerprint sensor. Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the handset supports Warp Charge 30 at 5V/6A that is said to deliver 38 percent faster charging speeds than the previous version.
